Criminal activity in Ostrava uncovered thanks to GPS data and cooperation

Thanks to a vehicle's GPS data, it was possible to prove its movements at the scene of criminal activity. Picture it as a scene from a crime film – a man named Milan finds himself in a situation where one of his rental cars ends up at the centre of a suspicious criminal operation. What happens next?

What happened next was cooperation with the criminal police – and with us, as the provider of the GPS tracker in the vehicle.

The police found the car and began searching for the owner of the car rental company, which led them to Milan. He decided not to hide anything and openly provided information from the trip journal, along with the route his car had taken on the day in question. This was the key moment that pointed the criminal police in the right direction.

The criminal police wanted more, so they approached us as the GPS tracking provider. After consulting Milan and with his consent, we decided to provide the GPS data from the selected day. This included all the recorded positions, GPS coordinates and detailed information we had obtained directly from the vehicle.
