Electronic trip journal – required for VAT deduction in Slovakia from 1 January 2025!
2025-08-18
Did you know that from 1 January 2025 a new obligation applies in Slovakia to sole traders and companies that want to deduct VAT on fuel? Claiming VAT at a flat rate (e.g. 80% business / 20% private trips) will no longer be possible – every trip must be demonstrably recorded.
If you want to keep claiming VAT on fuel, you will need a trip journal – ideally an electronic one that works automatically, with no manual filling in.
Why switch to an electronic trip journal?
✅ 100% compliant with the legislation from 1 January 2025
✅ No manual filling in – everything is recorded automatically
✅ Accurate data for the tax office – ideal for accounting and VAT deduction
✅ An overview of every trip – we tell business and private trips apart for you
✅ Support and set-up tailored to your needs – every company is different, and we know it
How does it work?
We install a small GPS tracker in the vehicle that records:
📍 its location in real time
🕘 the start and end of each trip
🗺️ routes driven, times and breaks
⛽ refuelling, speed and other optional data
All this information is displayed in the web and mobile app – including an automatically generated trip journal that you can download in PDF or XLS format. What's more, you can easily mark which trips were private and which were business – it takes just one click.
Call us or drop us a line – we'll be happy to show you how the system works in practice.
Try the electronic trip journal today and discover the difference between “having the full picture” and “guessing”.
