We currently monitor fuel consumption and compliance with speed limits for more than 80 of our company's vehicles. The fleet manager is alerted every time the maximum speed we have set is exceeded.

AZ KLIMA a.s. specialises in the comprehensive supply of HVAC systems and building services. It offers services ranging from design through to servicing, including in-house production of components such as air handling units, ductwork and spiral ducts. Its references include car manufacturers such as Hyundai, Kia, Škoda Auto and TPCA.

Why did they approach us?
AZ KLIMA a.s. approached our company at the end of 2022 because they were not satisfied with the GPS trackers from another company, whose application did not provide enough data or options. They were therefore looking for a solution in which they could not only track vehicle movements online and generate a trip journal, but also monitor drivers' driving style, speeding and vehicles leaving their designated work area.

How did our cooperation go?
First, we selected a suitable GPS tracker. The requirement was to read data from the CAN bus without voiding the warranty on new vehicles by dismantling the dashboard. We therefore chose GPS trackers that plug into the OBD-II port. We then demonstrated the system on test vehicles, which led to an order covering a third of the fleet, where tracking movement and driving style was most urgent.

What problems did we encounter and how did we solve them?
When connecting the GPS trackers, we found that some vehicle types were not fully supported. Because our company provides a complete service, from programming the GPS trackers to managing the application, we were able to respond, work with the GPS manufacturer and develop the right firmware for the vehicle type in question, so that we could read CAN bus data from those vehicles too.
Examples of vehicles for which we developed a CAN bus connection include the Opel Combo and the Peugeot Expert.

How is our cooperation continuing?
We currently track more than 80 of the company's vehicles, monitoring fuel consumption and driving speed in particular. Whenever the speed the company has set as its maximum is exceeded, a notification is sent to the fleet manager.
